We welcome the increasing advocacy on
making clean cooking accessible for all. Since
the current annual costs of not addressing this
challenge, estimated in the trillions of dollars
by the World Bank, justifies urgent public
intervention. However, policy discourse that
focuses only on solutions such as electricity and
liquid petroleum gas as ‘clean-fuels’, is
dangerously inadequate.
